About me

I came to massage therapy after a lifetime as a mover. Dance, yoga, Pilates, and somatics have shaped my life, helping me hone the skills of physicality, perception, curiosity, and attention. Bodywork is a field that lights me up, and I am in constant awe of the power of touch and attunement to facilitate change at the deepest levels of our being.

My work is patient and meditative, letting your body dictate pace and pressure. I never want to “put anything” on the bodies I treat—like a choreographed sequence, or ideas about what your body is or should be. I stay present to what-is, and allow your body to unwind into what-could-be. People often comment on my ability to melt away tension and imbalance without pain or a heavy hand. I trust equally in my technical training and intuition to guide me to areas that need attention, and I value clients’ input in helping to steer me in the right direction.

I graduated from Discoverypoint School of Massage in 2018 and hold a BFA in Dance from Western Washington University. While I am mostly a homebody, sometimes you can find me in the woods, and once in a blue moon on various stages in Seattle as Harpo Marxist, or as half of the drag/dance/clown duo Lesbian Death Bed.

“be like water making its way through cracks. do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it… empty your mind, be formless. shapeless, like water. if you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup. now, water can flow or it can crash. be water, my friend.

—Bruce Lee

modalities

I integrate multiple styles and modalities of massage, depending on each client’s needs and goals for the session

myofascial
slow, sustained stretch, compression, and manipulation of muscle, fascia, and joints to unwind stiffness and balance tension
lymphatic facilitation

light, rhythmic strokes for more efficient lymphatic flow. helpful after injury or surgery, or for managing chronic pain and inflammation
craniosacral
gentle holds of the head, spine, and pelvis; balancing tension and fluid movement in the craniosacral system. this modality can be deeply restorative for the nervous system
intraoral
working inside the mouth to release tension in the jaw prenatal
queer and trans affirming massage for all stages of pregnancy and postpartum
visceral mobilization

gently mobilizing the fascial wrapping of the abdominal organs
scar tissue release
appropriate for all healed scars older than six weeks, or when cleared by a physician

Sliding scale pricing is available for anyone who needs it, no questions asked. I only offer sliding scale pricing for 75 minute appointments. I ask that you consider these factors when deciding how much to pay:

I am unemployed, underemployed, or qualify for public assistance. I struggle to meet my basic financial needs. I have little to no savings, and/or debt keeps me from saving. $100-115

I am employed, have stable housing, and can reliably meet my financial needs. I have some savings, and can sometimes afford things like a vacation or more expensive item. $120-135

I can comfortably meet my financial needs, have savings, and debt is not a burden. I can afford the occasional splurge like a vacation or expensive item. $140-155

“the skin is no more separated from the brain than the surface of a lake is separate from its depths; the two are different locations in a continuous medium... the brain is a single functional unit, from cortex to fingertips to toes. to touch the surface is to stir the depths.”

Frequently asked questions

  • I am out of network with all insurance companies. I can provide a superbill which you can then submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is the client’s responsibility to check their insurance plan’s out of network benefits. Often companies require a diagnosis code for massage coverage. As diagnosis is out of my scope of practice, it is the client’s responsibility to get a diagnosis code from their doctor, physical therapist, or chiropractor.

  • The entrance to the space is fully wheelchair accessible, as are all doors, including my treatment room and the bathroom. Please note that there are are no grab bars in the bathroom.

My massage table has a weight capacity of 450 pounds. It does not currently have an electric lift. I have a small stool you are welcome to use when getting on and coming off the table. I will work with you on positioning if laying face down/ face up is not possible or comfortable.

I do not use scented products in my practice or person, neither does the LMT I’m subletting from, but there are a few other businesses that use the space whose scent practices I don’t know, so I would categorize it as a low-scent space.

There is a HEPA filter always on in the treatment room, and I always mask with a KN95 during massage, though not always during our intake conversation. You can request I mask for the entire time you are in the building and I will do so happily.

  • If driving, note that 33rd Ave is a one-way going northbound; you cannot turn onto 33rd from Union street. Instead you can turn west from 34th Ave onto Spring street (between the cupcake shop and the park).

Parking can be limited in front of the building but free street parking is available within a few blocks. Some areas have a 2 hour limit.

  • Routes 2 and 3 have stops within a block or two. Route 8 stops 5 blocks away at MLK Way and Union St, with a walk uphill to Seattle Movement Project.

  • In short, it depends! Your comfort on the massage table is the most important factor. Depending on what type of massage we will be doing it may make sense to stay clothed or to work directly on skin.

You are welcome to take everything off, leave underwear on, or keep on any other clothing that you’d rather keep on. I will always drape your body appropriately and in compliance with WA state law; genitals and any other body part you prefer stay covered will always stay covered.

If you’d like to stay clothed I recommend soft, comfy clothes like shorts and t-shirt or tank top. They allow you to stay comfortable lying on the table and allow me to feel what’s happening with your muscle tissue.

  • I require 24 hours notice for cancellations. If you need to reschedule your appointment for any reason, please reach out as soon as possible. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment will be subject to 50% of the service fee. No call/no shows will be subject to 100%.
